
Lisa Bottoms
Lisa Bottoms, Program Director for the Cleveland Foundation, knows that the power to control your destiny and make all your dreams come true lies within yourself, not in gang involvement. She is teaming up with STANCE to show how the community can grow stronger by standing together and taking a STANCE against drugs and gangs. By teaching our youth the importance of hard work, perseverance and positive self-esteem, we are not only helping the generation of today, we are paving the way of generations to come.
Giving her all for the community:
- Earned a Master’s Degree from Cleveland State University in Labor Relations and Human Resource Management
- Has been in human services for 20 years, working with children and families
- Teaches dance to young girls within the community as a means of building self-esteem
- Became a training officer for foster parents, daycare providers and social services staff
- Served as director and coordinator at the Cuyahoga County Family and Children First Council
- Directed the Child Well-Being Initiative which addressed the needs of children from prenatal stage through age 18
- Managed Invest in Children to help give children their best possible start in life in their first five years
- Currently the program Director for Human Services and Child and Youth Development at The Cleveland Foundation and oversees all the foundation’s grant-making programs
