
Eric Flannery
Eric Flannery, St. Edward Men’s Varsity Basketball coach, knows the importance of teamwork. That’s why he’s teaming up with STANCE to show kids that the best way to become a winner is by taking a STANCE against drugs, violence and gangs. By making good decisions, getting involved in positive extracurricular activities and working together to improve our neighborhoods and communities, they’ll go further then they ever thought possible.
About Coach Flannery:
- Varsity Basketball coach at St. Edward since 1996
- Selected to Jordan Brand Classic All-Star game staff in 2008
- Appointed by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) in 2009
- One of only two coaches to have been asked to serve three terms on the Junior Development Committee for USA basketball
- Has made six state Final Four appearances since 1996
- Holds a current record of 226-75, giving him a 75% winning percentage; This percentage is the highest in school history
- Led team to state championship in 1998
- Has graduated 13 players to Division 1 Basketball
- Has coached three players who went on to play NBA basketball. Including current Cleveland Cavalier Jawad Williams
- Named Ohio Coach of the Year in 2007
- Named Plain Dealer Seven County Coach of the Year three times; 98, 07 and 08
