National Organizations

There are a number of national organizations that provide helpful information about related information.

Crime Reports

CrimeReports.com provides law enforcement agencies with an affordable and easy-to-use Web-based service for managing and controlling the sharing of crime data with the public, in near real-time. Community members can then access their neighborhood crime information for free, empowering them to make informed decisions to help improve the safety of their families, friends, property and the community at large.

National Center for Victims of Crime

To assist service providers who deal with teens, the National Center for Victims of Crime has compiled a collection of teen-related resources, as well as other resources that may be of use.

National Crime Prevention Council

This association's mission statement is to provide a national resource for the enhancement and promotion of crime prevention and provide for the development of professional crime prevention practitioners. The association will offer training, resources, conference opportunities, and information-sharing outlets for the practitioner. This will help programs grow and expand as well as educate the practitioner about new emerging trends in the crime prevention field.

National Youth Violence Prevention Resource Center

The mission of the NYVPRC is to provide key leaders in communities — city managers/leaders and community leaders — with dynamic resources to help support their efforts to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate effective youth violence prevention efforts.

Tips for Teens Information About Alcohol and Drugs

The Friend-to-Friend program recruits, trains and coordinates volunteers to visit men and women in prison. Friend-to-Friend volunteers find this service a way to live out their faith. They also discover that, by providing this kind of direct help to people in need, they provide a valuable service to the community and the justice system. Finally, it is personally rewarding to know you’re making a difference in someone’s life.
