The Dangers of Gang Life

Initiation

New recruits may be forced to “walk the line” or get “beat in” as a way of gaining membership. The tentative member is most often brutally beaten or forced to do something dangerous or illegal. If you choose to go through with it, it is possible you will be killed, maimed for life or contract an STD or AIDS.

Membership

It’s important to know, that once you pledge your allegiance to a gang, there’s almost no going back. If rival gangs see you and recognize you as a member (or ex-member) of a gang, your life, as well as the lives of your current friends and families may be in danger.

Crime/Violence

Often times, gang members are ordered to commit crimes or murder. If a gang member is killed, there may be a revenge killing, then a revenge killing on that killing. Crimes and violence go hand and hand with gang membership and often can lead to your death, as well as the death of someone close to you including family and friends who have nothing to do with the gang.
